Cooler & Freezer Temperature Monitoring in Kelowna

Wireless sensors in each cooler, freezer and hot-holding unit record temperatures every few minutes. The system keeps your daily temperature log for you and texts the person on duty when a unit starts to drift, before stock is lost. Pfitztech installs the sensors, gateway and network, and sets up the logs in the format your plan or procedures use.

Sound familiar?

  • Paper temperature logs get skipped on busy days, or filled in after the fact.
  • You only find out a cooler failed when you open it in the morning.
  • Pulling months of records for an inspector or auditor means digging through binders.
  • Staff turnover means nobody is sure who checks what.

How it works

STEP 1Sensors in every unitSTEP 2Readings every fewminutesSTEP 3Text when a unitdriftsSTEP 4Daily log saved foryou
  1. Install. We place a wireless sensor in each cooler, freezer and hot-holding unit and a gateway on your network.
  2. Continuous readings. Temperatures are recorded around the clock, not just when someone remembers.
  3. Early warning. If a unit drifts out of range, the person on duty gets a text with the unit name and what to check.
  4. Automatic records. A daily log and corrective-action notes are saved and easy to print or export.

Who it’s for

Any business that stores food, medicine or temperature-sensitive products: restaurants and cafes, grocers, caterers, wineries, clinics, pharmacies, labs, florists and care facilities in the Okanagan.

Good to know

For food businesses, Interior Health’s food safety plan guidance calls for cooler and hot-holding checks at least once a day and suggests keeping temperature records for three months. This system helps you keep those records. Compliance with your own plan and regulations remains your responsibility, and we do not guarantee inspection or audit results.

Pricing

Every job starts with a free on-site assessment. You get a fixed-price quote before any work starts, and most services can begin as a 30-day paid pilot so you can see results before committing to anything ongoing.

Frequently asked questions

Will this pass my inspection?

It gives you complete, accurate temperature records, which inspectors and auditors ask to see. Your overall plan is still your responsibility, and results depend on more than temperature logs.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Sensors store readings locally and upload them when the connection returns. We also check your network during the install.

Who gets the alerts?

Whoever you choose, such as the owner or the person on duty. You can set different people for day and night.

Do I still need a thermometer?

Yes. Keep a calibrated probe thermometer to spot-check products and verify the sensors.

Can it watch the compressor too?

Optionally, yes. We can add power monitoring on refrigeration circuits so you see failures sooner.
