Can a property run completely off-grid?
Yes. Solar, battery storage and a gas or diesel generator with automatic transfer can carry a home, shop or Edge system with no utility connection. The assessment sizes each part to your real load and your worst winter week.
Solar and battery, or a generator?
Usually both. Solar and batteries carry the day-to-day load quietly; a generator covers long cloudy stretches and heavy loads, and starts automatically when the batteries run low.
Gas or diesel generator?
Natural gas or propane generators suit sites with a gas line or a propane tank and cost less to maintain. Diesel suits remote sites and heavy loads where fuel is delivered. We help you choose based on fuel access, runtime and noise.
How far can a point-to-point wireless link reach?
It depends on clear line of sight. Links typically run from a few hundred metres to several kilometres; a site survey confirms the path and the right radios before anything is ordered.
Does Starlink work at remote and snowy sites?
Starlink needs a clear view of the sky. Its dish melts light snow on its own, and we mount it where trees and roof lines will not block it. For critical sites we pair it with a second connection for automatic failover.
Is the installation approved?
Yes. Electrical work is installed to code under a Technical Safety BC permit using certified equipment. We help you confirm any municipal or building permits your site needs.
Can you monitor it remotely?
Yes. Edge Watch monitors battery state, generator runs, solar output and internet uplink 24/7 and alerts you before a problem becomes an outage.
Can you work with our existing IT team or provider?
Yes. Pfitztech designs, builds and monitors the infrastructure and works alongside your IT team or provider. You keep full admin access.
